Getting Started with AdSense

Lots of people have been inquiring about how to get started with making money with Googles AdSense. Obviously the easiest way to get started is if you already have a website. Then it's just a matter of signing up for AdSense and placing the code for the ads on your site. Google offers a free tutorial here if you are unsure what AdSense is all about.

Google Wants to Send You $$$$$

Let me start by saying that this is not a get quick rich program, nor is it "Passive Income" like is promoted. It takes time and dedication to get started and if you stick with it you will be rewarded for your efforts with "Residual Income".

If you don't have a site yet, no problem, it's easy to start. I recommend getting started with a blog so you get accustomed to working on the web and move on from there. All of the big dogs started with one site and moved on to developing several if not hundreds of sites to generate residual income we are all after. You can sign up for a blog for free at Blogger.com.

The following is a partial summary of the Joel Comm break out session.

What to put on your website?

Original quality content

Where can you get content?

  • Write it yourself. Most people ask, "What do you write about?" Well, what are you passionate about? What do you know how to do? What skills do you have? Where have you traveled? What have you done? Just Write!
  • Outsource it- get other people to write for you. There are people that write for a living. You can have articles written for as little as $5 each. A few sites are Elance.com, Rentacoder.com , and Guru.com
  • Created by you sites visitors
  • Public domain works
  • Photos and Videos
  • Content is Everywhere!

Another great suggestion came from my friend Sam. He found a program that actually creates websites with content automatically. I just downloaded my own copy and it is awesome. The software is a breeze to use and there is an endless amount of customizable features.

You can get your FREE basic copy HERE.

It gives you the best affiliate paying programs on the web already preloaded in the software and of course includes AdSense. In fact, when you click the link you will see an amazing testimonial from Joel Comm himself, he says "The best automated site building software on the Internet."

This site will explain more of the details. Trust me, this software is great! And the best part…it is completely 100% FREE! (well, for now at least)

To get free, private access you need to use the link below.

Moving from Blogs to your own top level domains

You definitely need your own website domain(s) to really start making money. I suggest going to www.GoDaddy.com
. They offer the most affordable domain registration and hosting I have found with still a good amount of customer service.

The opportunity has never been as great as now, but time is passing by. Good Luck!

My Goals / Promises

We have all been so blessed with this wonderful gift of life. We must make the most of each and every breath we take.

Quoting Larry Winget, "Do what you said you would do, when you said you would do it". Can it get much simpler than that? If a goal is important enough it should be a promise, and then as they say, "Just do it". Lorel Langemeier spoke about needing to ask yourself if you are really committed to make your financial goals happen and needing to make non-negotiable commitments. I am making those commitments now.

"What is the last thought you want before you die?"- Keith Cunningham . This really ties in well with a book we are studying at church in our small group, "One Month to Live", by Kerry and Chris Shook. Living your life backwards, focusing on the big picture and what is truly important, for me it is diffidently not catching the latest episode of whatever is on TV.

(1st Draft)

Relationship:

Build a closer relationship with my wife, son, parents, grandparents, and friends.

Action Plan: Learn exactly what my wife needs and wants. Doing the little things that let her know she is appreciated. Engage my son in conversation every day. Help him start an online skateboard business. Make quality family time.

Financial:

Complete financial freedom within 5 years. $2,500 per month passive/residual income within 18 months. Provide the financial abundance my wife deserves. She is a princess and should be living in a castle. Travel: Australia for Date with Destiny in 2009, African Safari with mom, hike to Machu Picchu in Peru, yearly helicopter ski trip with dad and brother. Toys: 36 ft sailboat for me, convertible Mercedes, diamonds and special gift for Claudia.

Action Plan: Start with what I know, promoting websites. Develop 5 new websites per week and/or 100 pages of content per month for at least 12 months. Get out of my comfort zone, take a business writing class. Work out a budget and save at least 10%. Focus on paying bills on time to avoid late fees. Maximize my tax savings. Sell unused items in storage on ebay. Use profits and invest in the stock market as Chuck Mellon taught.

Spiritual:

Contribute more to the community. Tithe at least 10%. Grow closer to god.

Action Plan: Volunteer at church. Help with church website. Find a family that needs landscaping help. Earn more=Tithe more.

Health:

Lose weight, build muscle, and be flexible. Top physical shape for helicopter ski trip in December. Complete a marathon in summer of 2009.

Action Plan: Started the "Core Performance", by Mark Verstegen, workout program. Work out 6 days per week. Watch what I eat. Continue not drinking alcohol.

Career:

Sell 3500 trips this year. Be top sales person and hit all bonuses. Lead by example. Second job is just as important and needs100% commitment and focus.

Action Plan: Time management, give it all while at the office and then leave. Work on second job each and every day. Take Keith Cunninghams class in 2009 and buy a new business by 2010.

This is the Beginning of a New Day

This is the beginning of a new day.
God has given me this day to use as I will.
I can waste it or use it for good.
What I do today is very important because I am exchanging a day of my life for it.
When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever.
Leaving something in its place I have traded for it.
I want it to be a gain, not loss - good, not evil.
Success, not failure in order that I shall not forget the price I paid for it.
This is the beginning of a new day.
When tomorrow comes it will be gone forever.
Make sure you leave something worthwhile in its place.

What an awesome weekend! It was such a great honor to meet so many gifted individuals. Thank you so much for your encouragement and insight. I have decided to start this blog to chronicle my goals and journey. I am making a commitment to post something to this blog at least 5 times per week.
